My dad's 1950s kitchen mixer finally gave out after 70 years
The motor started smoking last Tuesday while I was making cookie dough, so now I'm stuck figuring out if I can find someone to fix the old Hamilton Beach or if I should just buy a new one, has anyone here had luck getting those old motors repaired?

Wait, did you say that mixer lasted 70 years? That's wild, my grandma had an old Hamilton Beach from the 50s that she used every single week for cakes and stuff, and I swear it still ran like a champ when she passed it down to my cousin. The motor smoking though, that's usually a sign the brushes are completely gone or maybe the wiring got all crispy inside, which is fixable if you can find a shop that still works on that old stuff. I'd look for a vacuum repair place or a small appliance shop that's been around forever, they usually have the parts or know how to rewind the motor if it's not totally fried.
