Grandpa's dent puller from the 50s still works better than my new slide hammer

I was fixing a door ding on my 63 Falcon last week and grabbed the old sliding hammer from my toolbox, but the little dent puller my grandpa used back in 57 got it out clean in one try. Why did we stop making tools that actually fit your hand instead of always adding more leverage?

Respect the old stuff but new tools have their place too. That vintage dent puller probably works because it was built for one specific job and your grandpa knew exactly how to use it. Modern slide hammers can handle heavier damage, they just need a little more finesse than a quick pop.

Oh man, that reminds me of my uncle who swore by his old Craftsman ratchet from the 60s even after the handle got all cracked! @ivan_hayes29 you're right about the finesse part, my grandpa could make that thing dance on a dent.
